Privacy Policy

The Linguistic Society of New Zealand collects personal information from members including:
•       your name, if you are a member or have been a member in the past
•       your postal address and/or email address
•       your membership status

For student members we also retain:
•       evidence of student status
•       university or place of study

This data is used for administrative purposes, such as communicating with members about the Society’s business, maintaining the Society’s records, and complying with any legal obligations. We also provide a list of the names of our current members to the organisers of the Society’s official conferences to enable them to determine bona fide membership status and eligbility to submit abstracts or present. The Linguistic Society of New Zealand also collects and processes personal information in order to administer awards, prizes and grants, such as student conference travel assistance.
