This site provides information about the history, membership and activities of the Linguistic Society of New Zealand.

History of the Linguistic Society of New Zealand

The Linguistic Society of New Zealand was founded in Auckland in 1958, in order to "promote and pursue the scientific description and study of the evolution and structure of languages".

Management of this site

This site is maintained by Paul Warren of the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, Victoria University of Wellington.

The Linguistic Society of New Zealand holds a member’s email address and professional affiliation in its membership database. This is only used by the annual conference organisers to determine a member’s bona fide status for the purposes of submitting abstracts/delivering conference papers and for direct communications from the Society’s Secretary/Treasurer to an individual member. Please feel free to contact us at <nzlingsoc@gmail.com> if you have any concerns.
